This site is a tribute to Josephine McSweeney, a loving mother and grandmother.
Mum was unique. A quirky, giving and gifted lady who is missed by those who knew and loved her. Mum dedicated her working life to nursing working well beyond retirement age in the specialty of older peoples care. In her later years, mum devoted her time to charitable work at numerous charity shops across Colchester. Thoughout her life, mum had a stong faith supporting and attending her local church until her health deteriorated.
Mum loved cats and had many in her life, unable to turn any away. Her last one Tiger gave her great comfort and lives on in a therapy cat that Mum always loved and cared for.
Mum expressed herself through her artistic nature and the special treasures we have of her paintings and knitting will always make us smile. Mum loved to win a game of cards and her infectious laugh would light up any room.
Our Mum and Nana will be forever in our hearts.
I don’t have the works to express what you meant to me, all my love Elly x x
